For my last project, I had no idea what I was going to do. I knew I wanted to paint, but I had absolutely no idea any farther than that. After scrapping many projects, I had painted an entire piece of paper solid metallic gold, and I thought it was really cool looking, so I decided to add some metallic bronze chevron on it. That's where I got the title for this post, because chevron are like arrows, and also this is my last art project of 8th grade. I liked this project. I think it's fun to paint, and the metallic paint was really pretty. As per usual, I don't have tons of process pictures, but I have some. I started with just solid gold paint, but then I added the bronze.
Above is the painting taped to my bedroom floor, after I had painted the first coat of bronze. After I did this, I let the paint dry and I peeled the tape off, and the cleaned up the lines and made the color darker and more opaque in the places that it needed it.
This is my finished painting. I like it because it's really pretty with the different metallic colors, but it's also simple and not at all that busy. I'm really pleased with it, and I'm glad that this is my last project of 8th grade!
